A sibling conduwuit-lineage server writes the leave event itself into this
column rather than the array of state events written here, and a database
imported from one keeps those rows as it wrote them. Both shapes are read,
neither is rewritten, and the origin writes its own shape again on a swap
back, so this column is not guaranteed to hold one format on disk.
