pub struct Service {
services: Arc<OnceServices>,
channel: (Sender<Msg>, Receiver<Msg>),
transport: Arc<dyn Transport>,
select: Arc<dyn Select>,
capacity: usize,
}Expand description
Coordinates coalesced, validated federation fetches with candidate failover.
A single worker owns all in-flight state and admits at most 256 distinct fetches at once; additional keys wait in its pending queue. Fetches have no whole-operation deadline or per-server fairness scheduler.
Fields§

Source§impl Service
impl Service
Sourcepub(super) async fn validate(&self, opts: &Opts, bytes: &[u8]) -> Result
pub(super) async fn validate(&self, opts: &Opts, bytes: &[u8]) -> Result
Applies poison detection before a fetched response is accepted.
When check_conforms is enabled, malformed JSON rolls over to the next
candidate; Backfill also rejects an empty batch while MissingEvents accepts
one. Deep validation is limited to event and auth-event operations.
Source§impl Service
impl Service
Sourceasync fn verify_pdu(&self, opts: &Opts, bytes: &[u8]) -> Result
async fn verify_pdu(&self, opts: &Opts, bytes: &[u8]) -> Result
Applies enabled event-ID and cryptographic checks to one PDU response.
Event verification errors are propagated, but its Verified classification
is currently discarded, so check_hashes does not enforce a hash match.
Source§impl Service
impl Service
Sourcepub(super) async fn run_worker(self: Arc<Self>)
pub(super) async fn run_worker(self: Arc<Self>)
Runs the single owner task for request, deferral, and in-flight state.
The request map, pending queue, and fetch futures are owned exclusively by this task, so no lock guards them.
Source§impl Service
impl Service
Sourcefn push_attempt<'a>(
&'a self,
futures: &FuturesUnordered<BoxFuture<'a, (Key, Result<Arc<Outcome>, Failure>)>>,
key: Key,
opts: Arc<Opts>,
weak: Weak<()>,
)
fn push_attempt<'a>( &'a self, futures: &FuturesUnordered<BoxFuture<'a, (Key, Result<Arc<Outcome>, Failure>)>>, key: Key, opts: Arc<Opts>, weak: Weak<()>, )
Push one attempt future onto the worker’s set, yielding its key with the result so the worker can route it back. The lone construction site for the borrowed-future shape, shared by the fresh-dispatch and re-arm paths.
Source§impl Service
impl Service
Sourceasync fn attempt(
&self,
server: OwnedServerName,
opts: &Opts,
) -> (OwnedServerName, Option<Bytes>)
async fn attempt( &self, server: OwnedServerName, opts: &Opts, ) -> (OwnedServerName, Option<Bytes>)
Fetch one candidate and validate it: Some(bytes) on a clean response,
None on a transport error or a poisoned body. A miss is logged, never
fatal, so it cannot cancel a sibling racing the same round.
Source§impl Service
impl Service
Sourcepub async fn fetch(&self, opts: Opts) -> Result<Arc<Outcome>>
pub async fn fetch(&self, opts: Opts) -> Result<Arc<Outcome>>
Fetches raw response bytes over federation with coalescing and failover.
Requests coalesce only when their complete option identities match, except missing-event windows are order independent. The future resolves when one response passes every enabled check; candidate exhaustion, attempt limits, or round limits otherwise end it with failure.

§fn fg(&self, value: Color) -> Painted<&T>
fn fg(&self, value: Color) -> Painted<&T>
Returns a styled value derived from self with the foreground set to
value.
This method should be used rarely. Instead, prefer to use color-specific
builder methods like red() and
green(), which have the same functionality but are
pithier.
§Example
Set foreground color to white using fg():
use yansi::{Paint, Color};
painted.fg(Color::White);Set foreground color to white using white().
use yansi::Paint;

This method should be used rarely. Instead, prefer to use color-specific
builder methods like on_red() and
on_green(), which have the same functionality but
are pithier.
§Example
Set background color to red using fg():

§fn attr(&self, value: Attribute) -> Painted<&T>
fn attr(&self, value: Attribute) -> Painted<&T>
Enables the styling [Attribute] value.
This method should be used rarely. Instead, prefer to use
attribute-specific builder methods like bold() and
underline(), which have the same functionality
but are pithier.
§Example
Make text bold using attr():
use yansi::{Paint, Attribute};
painted.attr(Attribute::Bold);Make text bold using using bold().
use yansi::Paint;

fn rapid_blink(&self) -> Painted<&T>
§fn quirk(&self, value: Quirk) -> Painted<&T>
fn quirk(&self, value: Quirk) -> Painted<&T>
Enables the yansi [Quirk] value.
This method should be used rarely. Instead, prefer to use quirk-specific
builder methods like mask() and
wrap(), which have the same functionality but are
pithier.
§Example
Enable wrapping using .quirk():
use yansi::{Paint, Quirk};
painted.quirk(Quirk::Wrap);Enable wrapping using wrap().
use yansi::Paint;
painted.wrap();§fn clear(&self) -> Painted<&T>
👎Deprecated since 1.0.1: renamed to resetting() due to conflicts with Vec::clear().
The clear() method will be removed in a future release.
fn clear(&self) -> Painted<&T>
renamed to resetting() due to conflicts with Vec::clear().
The clear() method will be removed in a future release.
§fn whenever(&self, value: Condition) -> Painted<&T>
fn whenever(&self, value: Condition) -> Painted<&T>
Conditionally enable styling based on whether the [Condition] value
applies. Replaces any previous condition.
See the crate level docs for more details.
§Example
Enable styling painted only when both stdout and stderr are TTYs:
use yansi::{Paint, Condition};
painted.red().on_yellow().whenever(Condition::STDOUTERR_ARE_TTY);§impl<T> Pointable for T
